Welcome to Four Grain Bread! It’s been over a year since I have been in the blogosphere. I had planned on starting back up again last summer with this whole new blog and look, but
I got pregnant and lazy it just didn’t happen.
So here we are, a whole year later, and a lot has changed. I just finished my first year as a homeschool-mom. I will have to post more on that later because I never dreamed, well maybe a nightmare here or there, that I would be a homeschooler. I love it, and E just finished 3rd grade!
We also welcomed Martin Royce to our family back in February. Martin is serious, laid-back, calm, and snuggly. He is also, as my dad says, “A whopper” baby, in the 80-99% in length, weight, and head-size. He’s also super-strong and just as cute. Needless to say, it’s been a pretty busy year, but I’m ready to get back to blogging.
My goal for Four Grain Bread (is this a thesis statement?) is to share my explorations with everyone. We’re beginning new journeys in our family in fitness, health/food, DIY-projects, parenting, and understanding truth. I’ll also share a post here and there about homeschooling ideas I’ve found helpful.
One of the things I love most about blogging is how putting ideas into words helps make them more concrete. It’s easy to let life go by and not be real. It’s easy to go through the motions, day-in, day-out, and not analyze anything I absorb from culture. Writing blog posts helps me decipher life and know more about who I am and who I want to be. As lame as this may sound, it’s true and real, and I’m excited about Four Grain Bread.
I’m also excited about my new hair cut. Since the fall of 2011 (right after we got married), I’ve been growing my hair out. It’s almost been 3 years, and it was really long. But I was ready for a change and ready to get back to my short hair. So my good friend, Megan, cut it Thursday night! She is amazing as a friend and a hairstylist. Welcome back, short hair!
